My passion: preserving automotive history and legends
Like love and hate, genius and madness – every restoration is a little odd. It’s like a puzzle with pieces that show up gradually. I am a conservator, historian, detective, researcher, craftsman and archivist – in all phases of the restoration. From an early age, I have been fascinated by the world of earlier eras’ classic sports and racing cars, in particular the Porsche brand.
I learned my craft in a renowned specialist workshop in the neighbouring city Leverkusen. Rare and extraordinary vehicles, such as the Porsche 550 Spyder or the early Porsche 356 Carrera models, have already passed through my hands. After graduating as a master chassis builder and taking over the workshop’s management, opening my own restoration company in 2015 was the next logical step.
Today, customers appreciate my instinct for knowing when a vehicle can continue to age gracefully and when a careful repair is necessary. Together, we find the ideal balance between preservation and functionality. Discretion is a top priority at Hapke Original.
